Marking Time
In the original series of drawings on vellum called Marking Time: The Days, I integrated fifteen years of my mother's date book entries with Shakespearean text. The transparency of the drawings allowed for a visually rich layering that conveys the passage of time. In the installation Her Days: Page by Page the viewer is able to walk through the pages and experience the passage of time directly. This installation was exhibited in varying configurations at Artemesia Gallery in Chicago and the University of Whitewater in 2001; Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph in 2002, Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana in 2006, and the Merwin Gallery at Illinois Weslyan University in 2010.
